Suppliers of biodegradable mailers for e-commerce.
Good suppliers of biodegradable mailers for e-commerce sell mailers that are specifically compostable or paper-based rather than vaguely “biodegradable”, say exactly what each mailer is made of and how to dispose of it, and print your logo at a low minimum. TWO Packaging sells compostable poly mailers and white, kraft and gold kraft paper mailers, printed from 500 per design and priced online.
Compostable and paper mailers, priced online: 9.5 × 12 in compostable logo mailers start at $175.95 for 500, Free US shipping included.
See my priceBiodegradable, compostable, recyclable: the words matter
“Biodegradable” on its own says nothing about how long a mailer takes to break down or where. In the US, the FTC’s Green Guides (16 CFR Part 260) say an unqualified degradable claim is only fair if the whole item breaks down completely within a reasonably short time after customary disposal, and most mailers end up in a landfill, where very little breaks down. Some states, including California, go further and restrict calling plastic products biodegradable at all.
That is why the useful terms are more specific:
- Compostable: made to break down into compost under composting conditions. Ask whether it is home compostable or needs an industrial facility, and which standard it meets (for example ASTM D6400 for industrial composting).
- Paper-based: paper outside, widely recycled in the US. Check the lining: a bubble lining is plastic.
- Recycled content: made partly from post-consumer plastic. Not biodegradable, but it keeps plastic in use.

- Which standard does it meet, and can I see the documentation? You need it before you print a claim on the mailer.
- What is the minimum, and the delivered price? Ours: 500 per design with a one-color logo, Free US shipping included.
- How long does it take? Production takes as few as 5 business days from artwork approval (up to 15), then delivery takes 25 to 35 days with Standard or 4 to 12 days with Expedited.
Print disposal instructions on the mailer
The most useful thing on an eco mailer is a short line telling your customer what to do with it, worded to match what your supplier can document. It turns a material choice into an actual outcome. Price yours on our custom mailers page, and see the wider range on our sustainable packaging page.
Frequently asked questions
Are biodegradable mailers the same as compostable mailers?
No. Compostable is a specific claim: the mailer breaks down into compost under composting conditions, and good suppliers name the standard it meets. Biodegradable on its own does not say how long or where.
Can compostable mailers go in the recycling bin?
No. Compostable film should be composted, not put in plastic recycling, where it can contaminate the stream.
What is the minimum order for compostable mailers?
At TWO Packaging, 500 per design with a one-color logo. Full color starts at 5,000 per design.
What sizes do compostable mailers come in?
Our Compostable Poly Mailers come in 6 × 9, 9.5 × 12, 12 × 14.25 and 13.5 × 19 inches, outside size.
